Children are naturally curious about nature and their environment. Daycare centers should take advantage of this by planning environmentally friendly activities. You will find that young children in your child day care center love playing in the dirt, planting seeds, watching the seeds they have planted grow, and then harvesting and tasting or displaying what they have planted. Container gardening is a simple way to introduce children to nature and gardening.
Container gardens can be created in just about any container that can hold soil and as long as the container has holes for proper drainage (about one half inch). Great containers for kid’s gardens include: (more…)

Daycare centre providers should involve the parents and consider their points and suggestions. You as the caregiver can tell the parents your observation about the kid when he or she is at the center and how the child interacts with others. The parents can give you information that would lighten or make the caring of the child lighter. Make sure that you always have regular conversations with the parents of the children under your care. Take note of the reminders that these parents give you since they are important even to the slightest and most simple details.

Children need to have their nap time for them to rest and develop. As a daycare owner, you can schedule a nap time for the children in your care. The nap time can start at 12 noon everyday. Since the children get exhausted from the activities that you do in the morning like playing and the like, they need enough rest to gain more energy.

The importance of play
There are things that children learn by reading books. But a lot of the things that these children learn are from play. There are a number of reasons why this is so. But the most basic part of it is the child’s desire. But for a child to learn, learning must incorporate the element of fun. Therefore the idea here in teaching children in a daycare setting is t o lessen the element of work and give more emphasis on the element of fun. Make sure that they learn while having a good time as this is what children prefer to do. For a parent, it is better for you to teach your child to learn while playing because playing will help then keep interested in what you are teaching them. There are subjects in a daycare like math and science that is taught in a classroom like setting, but it is still essential to put a little fun in it.

There are a wide variety of preschool activities that you can do at with your kids. Most of these activities do not need a lot of material and can be easily made in your own home. Activities for preschoolers can help them discover new areas of learning through their active involvement in the task at hand. One area of learning that is enjoyable to both children and adults is music. An effective way of introducing it to young kids is through creating their own musical instruments. They can use the instruments while playing (in a group or by themselves) or in school activities. Making finger paints
Even when there are a lot of nontoxic and enjoyable finger paints at the market available for children who belong in different age groups, fun and safe finger paints can also be made at home. Prior to the discussion of this project, one should first select a location to be painted. It is best to choose an open space far from carpeting, furniture or walls since finger paints are capable of creating a mess. Children should wear old clothes or old, adult shirts (e.g. button-down long sleeves) that are to be put on backwards to be used as protection against paint. Newspapers or drop cloths should be used to protect the area where they are painting. After that, one can start making finger paints. Almost certainly, the needed ingredients can be found in the kitchen. Be sure that a lot of glossy papers are available since finger paints work best on this kind of paper. Butcher and shelf papers do just fine. In a pan, combine 2 cups water and ¼ cup cornstarch. Let it boil until it becomes thick. Let the mixture cool, after that transfer into storage containers such as jars. Every jar should have an added food coloring that is different from the other. For finger paints to dry faster and to avoid them from wrinkling, they should be hung on clothesline using clothespins. Once dried, you will be able to help the kids in decorating their own rooms with their latest finger paint designs or put the artworks at the refrigerator to be admired by everyone.
