We cannot deny the fact that as parents or guardians, we value our children so much. Thus, before enrolling them in a daycare or school, it is essential that we first have to assure ourselves that nothing whether physically and mentally can harm our children.

One of the most essential concern of parents and guardians is their children’s health and safety. Everyone will surely be upset and angry if their children meets any danger or accident while in a daycare or school program.

Still, an aggressive reaction such as complaints on the daycare or school program may only worsen the problem. It is recommendable that you rather do preventive measures to assure your child’s enjoyable experience in the daycare or school program.

The following are evidence-based procedures that you can use to assure your child’s safety and security:

•	Make sure your assumptions are evidence-based and with proof before you pinpoint on someone. Coordinate with your children’s teachers or caregivers regarding the actions you can take to solve the problems. Assert your role in the education of your child. In doing the above, you do not only assure your involvement in your child’s education but also ascertains your responsibility and maturity in handling problems and coming up with solutions rather than just whining and winning an argument.
•	Be calm when getting information from the teachers or caretakers. Consider giving praises about the positive things in the school or persons who is taking care of your child. Beginning conversations positively gives the impression not only of concern to your child’s well being but also an appreciation of their dedication and enthusiasm.
•	After school, talk with your children about how his school was. To know more, ask their teachers, classmates or even other parents regarding your child’s performance in school. By doing so, you can look at different perspectives. If you are well informed, you can have stronger opinions when you raise your concerns with the teachers or caretakers.
•	Be consistent even after you have already raised your concerns and complaints. Discuss with your child the issues to see if there are improvements. If there are none, make an action by approaching the next level of the hierarchy. You can, then, raise your concerns to the next person in line like the supervisor until an action has been made. Your involvement and being informed about your child’s education proves that you want excellence particularly in the quality of the results. This is better than making just one simple complaint on the issue and never making follow-ups again.
•	Instead of focusing on the people involved, concentrate on what happened. This lessens arguments that are unnecessary. Also, advised the teacher to focus on the wrong actions rather than criticizing the quality of the persons concerned.

Thus, like what most people say, prevention is better than any cure. Your participation or involvement in school and your confidence on the way you deal with situations is very essential not only to voice your concerns but also for the school to know and be able to meet your expectations.
Easy Steps to Motivate Your Child to Sleep At Your Daycare

Motivating even eight or more students to fall asleep while in your family daycare can actually be done easily even if you are not that experienced. If you are now wondering how it is possible to have all these children take a nap at the same time, you just have to read through the following steps. Of course You have to consider the following factors to make it totally effective.

One of the first things to be considered is the sleeping environment in the daycare. There must be a facility that is quite dark, silent and conducive for sleeping. This place must be free from any distractions such as ringing phones or toys that may get their attention away from sleeping. Children also need to feel relaxed to fall asleep.

•	Activities that will need a lot of energy such as exercises and other outdoor plays should be done in the morning. This is to be done to exhaust all their energy in the morning so that they will be interested to take a rest and sleep in the afternoon. Food rich in sugar content like candies should not be given as well because such items give them energy that can make them too excited and also, these items predispose them to toothaches and other dental caries.
•	Keep in mind that children are unique and some can get to sleep easier than others. A good technique will be to separate these children who is having a hard time to fall asleep than those who can fall asleep easily. These children who cannot fall asleep fast needs more assistance. You can try to give them relaxing massage such as back rubs or they might need instructions to lie down and not to leave the sleeping area.
•	Some children wakes up earlier than the others as well. Provide them with quiet activities so that they will not be able to distract children who are still sleeping. A special box consisting of all activities for such children can be done to give other children who are still sleeping an extra time for rest. The activities that can be used can include books, stickers, coloring materials and other mini games.

Making children sleep at the same time in a daycare can really be a very challenging task that may require a trial and error. To achieve the best strategies may take time and effort through experimentations. Providers in daycare can have their own strategies. The choice still depends on the provider and their children’s needs and characteristics.

The world has been taken by the issue on swine flu. The virus has been spreading rapidly, affecting the people worldwide. Why is this so alarming? The influenza virus can easily be acquired by anyone. It can be obtain from touching other people, desks, doorknobs, tables and even in the air. This is why so many people are taking precautionary measures when it comes to this.

If you are a day care center operator, you need to be aware that this is a dangerous illness. It can cause you to endanger the children if you do not take safety measures when it comes to the swine flu. If you have recently been listening to the news, a day care center was forced to close down because of a suspected cause of swine flu. Even if you think that your day care center is safe, you will never know if tomorrow someone may get infected by swine flu. It is better to take precautionary measures to avoid this from happening to you.

In order to prevent the transmission of swine flu, you need to make sure that everyone in the day care is following proper hand washing procedures. They should wash their hands properly before and after eating, playing indoors or outdoors and when using the restroom. These will prevent the child as well as the staff members to infect himself with the virus.

Make sure that you post a poster of the proper way of washing the hands beside the sink which the people can follow. Remind them that cleaning with water alone is not enough to remove the germs on the hands. It is always important to provide soap in the sink when washing hands. Besides from this, always make alcohol available for disinfecting the hands. This will kill majority of the bacteria that are staying on the hands.

When sneezing, always make sure that the child is taught to cover their mouths to prevent the spread of the germs. This also goes for coughing since these can easily be transmitted if they are not careful enough. Hand washing should always be remembered in these instances. The children should always wash their hands after they have sneezed or cough on their hands because they might contaminate anything that they touch.

On your part, you should always make sure that you are using disinfectants when you are cleaning your day care center. It is important to keep all surfaces germ-free so that the people who are touching these will not acquire any germs that may cause harm to their health.

Your primary job as a day car is to ensure that the children are kept safe from harm. It is not enough that you teach the children certain lessons and skills, but it is also important that you teach them how to take care of their bodies well. Do not let the swine flu beat you. You can do something about it and it is your responsibility to teach the children proper procedures that will ensure that they are healthy.

Influenza is a disease commonly called as flu. In this condition, a person experiences an abrupt start of fever. He also suffers from sore throat, cough, body aches including headache. When children are affected by this disease, they also experience diarrhea, dehydration and nausea.

There are two common types of flu namely the seasonal flu and the pandemic flu.

Seasonal Flu

•	Occurs at a certain duration (annually, summer, winter)
•	In the U.S., 36,000 people suffering from this disease die per year.
•	Antiviral are available in the market
•	Vaccine is available
•	Symptoms are fever, muscular pain, coughing, runny nose
•	Can lead to a complication called pneumonia which is the usual cause of deaths
•	Just gives minor impact on world economy and society

Pandemic Flu

•	Very rare
•	Just occurred about three times in the 20th century
•	Last occurrence is 1968
•	Antivirals are limited
•	Vaccine is unavailable in the start of the pandemic flu
•	Deaths are high. In the U.S in 1918, approximately 500,000 people died.
•	Symptoms are more severe
•	Leads to complications more often
•	Potential threat for the world economy and society

Here are some suggestions in attending to this kind of disease.

•	Wash your hands often with soap and lukewarm water. This should be done for about 15 to 20 seconds. Children should be supervised and aided to guarantee proper hand washing. Washing your hand after wiping your nose or other people’s nose is very important.

•	A regular check-up of the restrooms should be done in order to make sure that clean towels and soap are always available.

•	When a child, staff or a volunteer is believed to have acquired flu, he or she should not go to the day care.

•	When you or the children sneeze or cough, make sure that you cover your mouth. This is done in order to prevent flu from spreading and affecting other people. If a restroom is not available at the moment, wash your hands clean using your hand sanitizer or your isopropyl alcohol.

•	To prevent the occurrence of disease most especially in pregnant women and children at a very young age (from 6 months to 59 months), they should get a flu shot.

•	It is advised that you have your own utensils when you eat or drink. Sharing of glasses, spoons and forks also means the sharing of saliva which allows the spread of the disease.

•	Make sure that door handles and other commonly used surfaces in the area are clean. Frequently wipe or clean them using disinfectants and cleaning solvents.

•	When there is an outbreak of flu, day care facilities is suggested to remain open.

When you are leaving your child in a daycare, it is important that you provide the daycare center with your information and details. This includes your contact numbers at home, at work and even your cellphone. This is to assure that wherever you are, the childcare center can contact and reach you in case an emergency occurs. For example, if your child has a sudden fever, an injury or any circumstance that requires your attention, the childcare will be able to reach you. Aside from your contact number, the daycare also assigns another emergency contact person in case you can not be contacted. So that in case of emergencies and you are not available, there will be someone who can fetch your kids. But, the contact person should also be informed so that they will be aware if someone calls them from the child care services. It is also important to that you should sign an authorization letter for the person who will take in charge of your child when you are not available.

In the daycare centers, you can also assure the safety of your children by making sure that the daycare follows the safety precautions. Poisonous substances must be placed in a safe storage to keep away from the children. Regulations from different states require that chemical substances and formulas to be put in a cabinet and locked up unless needed. This is to make sure that there are away from food that can poison the children and even the staff. Harmful substances that could possibly be present in the daycare center are limited to cleaning materials. Other substances can include medicine, vitamins and other home supplies. The staff must make sure that these substances are not lying around the center. When checking the daycare for your kids, make sure to ask them where harmful substances are kept to assure the safety of your kids.

When inside the daycare center, you must take note of the toys and tools that are present within their play area. Make sure that the toys will not pose any danger to the children. Take note whether the toys that are made from plastic do not contain lead and other harmful substances for your kids. Toys that contain sharp or pointed edges must also not be allowed in the daycare center. These toys can cause any kind of accident that would cause injury to the kids. The staff should also watch over the children at all times in order to prevent the kids from putting toys inside their mouth. The caregiver must take note of small object such as pebbles, coins and other small objects and if possible should be put away while the children are playing.

Another thing that you should take notice is the water temperature inside the daycare facility. You must make sure that there are labels in the faucet handles between hot and cold water to prevent your children from having scald and burns. There must also be a staff that will accompany them and supervise them at all times. A state law indicates that the maximum temperature should only be 120 degrees Fahrenheit for hot water to make sure that it is safe for the kids.

Taking care of a child is a very meticulous task that needs care. Since children are more sensitive and prone to infection than adults, you must make sure that your child has all the things needed to be healthy and safe even in the daycare center.

Immunization for your child
Immunization is very important for children because it adds to the protection of your children against certain diseases. The role of immunization is to prevent such diseases that are harmful and can cause serious problems not only to children but to adults as well. There laws in a number of states that requires immunization records of a child before being admitted into a daycare center. This rule helps in protecting the children, staff and families as well. According to the recommendation of the United States’ Center for Disease Control, shots for immunization shall be given to babies as soon as they are born, when they reach two months, after their first birthday, at four years old, eleven and fourteen years of age. Included in the required immunization is D-P-T for diphtheria, anti-tetanus and anti-pertussis, Hepatitis B, mumps, measles, rubella, polio, and Hib for a type B influenza. Most of the vaccines are required before entering a public school. But there are some medical conditions or religious tradition that may prohibit the immunization of the child. When this happens, a physician or religious authority shall have the require documents that allow the immunization of the child. If you have other questions and want to know more about immunizations, you should contact your local center of health or human services.

Keep it clean and disinfected
Whenever you are at home or in a childcare facility, you must always look after the cleanliness. Before choosing a child care center for your children, observe the cleanliness of the area such as the floors, table tops, bathrooms, kitchen and the like. Make sure that the floor where your children are staying or strolling are swept, mopped and vacuumed. Make sure also that the corners in the room are cleaned. Since the kitchen and the bathroom are the places where most infection may occur, you have to make sure that they are kept clean and disinfected at all times. The surfaces can be sanitized using a tablespoon of bleach in a quarter of water. Check for soap, tissue, personal towel and other sanitary stuff in the bathroom. The kitchen must also be clean all the time because this is where their food will be prepared. Ask for the proper hygiene program of the daycare so that you will know how strict they are when it comes to maintaining cleanliness.

Changing Diapers for your Baby
Another important detail that you must take note is the proper method of changing diapers. You must inquire about the method that your daycare is using so that if your child have allergies and rashes due to certain products then you can tell the center. You have to make sure that the daycare has all the supplies that they will need such as diapers, wiping cloths, lotions and other medications needed by the baby. There should also be a flat, clean and sanitized surface where the child will lay. The tables should be sanitized by spraying with a commercial cleaner and wiping with a solution of bleach and water. There should also be a pad or towel so that the baby will still be comfortable. The surfaces must be sanitized and washed with alcohol or other sanitizing solution after every use. The caregivers must be very cautious when changing the diapers. They can also use a strap in order to secure the baby while they are changing the diaper in order to prevent the baby from falling off. The waste diapers must also be properly disposed. It is in the law that all caregivers or staff must wash their hands after changing the diapers of the baby. If the daycare is not following the required method, you can question your childcare provider.

In case of Illness
It is the responsibility of the daycare to assure the parents that there place is healthy for the children. This includes making sure that the children do not acquire any kind of disease while in the daycare center. This means that in case a child has a certain disease, it is required of the child care center to isolate the child as soon as the disease is discovered. It is a way to make sure that no other children will catch or have the same disease. Aside from that it also protects not only the children but as well as the staff. According to certain state laws, a daycare center or facility is not allowed to accommodate and entertain a child who has a temperature of over 100 degrees. Children who also have symptoms of communicable diseases such as chickenpox or measles are also not allowed unless the facility has a sick-care license. The children who are sick are isolated until their parents or guardians fetch them from the center. But since sickness usually occurs, there are now current guidelines for operating child care facilities that are strictly for ill or sick children. It is a universal standard procedure for all child care facilities to isolate ill or diseased children from other children when in the custom of a daycare center.

First aid and kits must be available
The daycare facilities must always have first aid kits available and handy in case any emergency occur. It must be located in places that all staff knows. It should also be easy to obtain to save time in case an urgent emergency occurs. It is advisable that every room must have its own first aid kit. But some states allow family daycare home to have at least one kit. According to the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care each daycare must have two first aid kits. First aid kits must also be brought to field trips or out of the center activities. Besides the kit, it is of utmost importance that the staffs have enough training about basic first aid. The numbers for emergency such as hospitals, poison control, police and fire fighters must also be available when needed.

The early stages of a child’s life are critical for their physical and health well-being, emotional upbringing, and social and cognitive growth and development. That is why it is really important for the family to become loving, affectionate, and supportive to their children for it set a good foundation for their future learning.

Ensuring that children eat nutritious foods daily, have enough exercise, as well as medical care will not only make them strong and healthy, but will also give them good start in their lives. By doing so chances that the children will grow up problematic and undisciplined will be less likely.

Food
Always give your child nutritious food to keep her healthy. Practice them earlier to not eat too much fatty foods and sweets. Provide them balanced food indicated in the food pyramid including breads and cereals, fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish and meat alternatives (such as eggs and dried beans and peas) and milk, cheese and yogurt. Since children from 2-5 years old can already eat like as adults, you only need to consult your doctor and ask advice on how to properly feed children under the age of 2.

Exercise
Ample exercise should be given to children even if they are still toddlers. Physical activities could be as simple as coordinating their legs and arms, throwing and catching balls, jumping, running, and climbing, or even dancing to the tune of their favorite music. Other fun activities and exercise are coloring with crayons, putting together puzzles, picking up and grasping small objects such as coins and beads.

Medical Care
Make sure that your child receives regular check up to your pediatrician or clinic. Ensure that they have immunizations already against numerous diseases like measles, mumps, German measles (rubella), diphtheria, tetanus, polio and tuberculosis. These diseases should be prevented immediately before the child reaches age of 3. It is important that you talk to your doctor frequently about the benefits and risks of the immunization.

Social and Emotional Preparation
Emotional and social preparation of children can be best learned if parents practice and teach them. Giving them ample opportunities at home could help them develop the following positive attributes.

Confidence – Children must feel good about themselves. Try to always encourage them to be self-assured and assertive by always telling how great they are, and how they are capable of doing things.

Independence – Children must learn to do things by themselves and not be always dependent on their parents.

Motivation – Children must always be inspired to do their best in whatever undertaking they have.

Curiosity – It is essential for a child if she always asks question. It only means she is willing and eager to learn. If they are curious about something, let them be, but be sure you provide reliable answers to their queries.

Persistence – Children must learn how to persevere, and must be taught that they could attain something if they just keep on and stick with their goals.

Cooperation – Children must be taught how to interrelate with other people, younger or older than they are, appropriately and effectively.

Self-control – Children must know the fact that they should not be always impulsive and aggressive. They must distinguish between what they should and should not do.

Compassion – Children should be taught how to sympathize with others, to feel what others feel, and understand them.

To develop these good qualities in your children, here are some steps you can always follow:

Be caring and dependable. – Always show to your children that you truly love and care for them. Give them enough attention, care, praise, encouragement, kiss and hug, which will motivate them to do their daily activities and will boost their self-confidence.

Be a good example. – Since your children look up to you for guidance and protection, set yourself as a good example to them. Eat nutritious food with them, exercise, be gentle and friendly to others, and be thoughtful of other’s feeling and by doing so, your children will think that it is also the best way they can be.

Practice, practice, practice. – For your children to absorb what you are teaching them, like crawling, pronouncing new words, drinking, using spoon and pork, do not hesitate to repeat things. Your children will best remember all of them if you would provide them opportunities for repetition.

Be disciplinary. – You don’t have to be too strict to your children for them to be disciplined. What’s important is that you give them firm but loving control and authority, without giving them few or too many limits.

Always remember that in disciplining your kids, you must direct them in their activities but you don’t have to be too bossy. Give them reasons why they have to do something good. Listen to them about how they feel about something and explain things that they could not understand. Also, always show them love and respect; criticize their wrong behavior, not their personality; provide them options to choose what they want; and always be positive and encouraging. Help your child make choices and solve problems. You might ask them simple questions like “what should we do to your baby brother if he keeps crying all night?”

Let your child be independent. – You have to teach your child to things by herself, but still you need to watch them closely. When they learn things by themselves, it would surely enhance their self-confidence. Let them do simple tasks like eating meal on their own, dressing themselves, and arranging their toys and puzzles.

Encourage your child to interact to different people. – Let them play with other children and to be with adults who are not their family members like their teacher.

Be optimistic toward learning and toward school. – Always tell your child that learning is really an enjoyable experience. Encourage them to explore and discover things. Also, make them proud of their accomplishments. Above all, be enthusiastic as you describe about starting school. Tell them about the nice things they will learn like reading, counting, and writing.

With our present economy, it is sometimes necessary that both of the parents must enter the workforce to earn a living to give a decent life for the family. This is very stressful if there are still small children that need to go to daycare.

Finding a good daycare service that meets your standards is tough because you often feel that no one can replace you in caring for your child. However, you can find quality daycare services if you know how to go about locating them. Take note that nothing is too good for your child and daycare makes no difference.

Research each daycare you are considering. Know that daycare services are governed by individual states and they are subject to their rules and regulation. The state licensing division in your area can assist you in gathering relevant information regarding any daycare services in your area.

Daycare services come in different sizes and forms. But if you like a more personal one-on-one relationship of your child with the daycare service providers, you can look for a home daycare. They provide daycare in their own home but still they are governed by the same rules and regulations as other facilities which are more rigid.

Your child is your first priority and if you are not at ease with the daycare service you have chosen, this will reflect in your productivity at work, therefore, it is advised that you take your time in choosing the right daycare service for you and your child. But if you are not sure of what daycare service to choose, consider the referrals of your family, relatives, and friends and those you know who were satisfied with the daycare service provider they have chosen.

By putting your child in daycare, you will able to go back to work so you can keep the home fires burning which would benefit your whole family. Your child also benefits from being in a safe, healthy, and hygienic environment where his needs like food, play, and washing up are all taken cared of.

With other children present in the daycare (from babies to toddler to pre-primary or even primary school children) your child learns to live in a social environment. He learns new skills such as communication, interactive play and team games. Some values are developed like sharing, table manners, and importance of obeying rules. They are also used to being in a structured environment which serves as a good preparation to a regular school later.

Children make friends in daycare and they also learn to follow rules and taking turns. They learn habits such as taking naps and putting away toys after using them. A good daycare service involves the children in a variety of fun activities like painting, puppetry, motor skill, expansion games and clay or sand play. Lessons on music, dance, and reading are also part of their activity. These would give the child a whole new world of play-way method of learning. These activities also reduce the chances of separation anxiety especially when they finally have to attend to a regular school.

Aside from socialization skills learned by your child, basic number, alphabet, and speech concepts are also taught. Thus, daycare essentially makes it easier for both the child and the parent to adapt to their regular school better and faster.

Most daycare centers encourage a classroom-style environment for older kids who are about to enter the regular school so that they will not be intimidated by the first experience at their school.

Some daycare centers have teachers whose task is to supervise timely homework schedules by school-going kids and they also guide them on various subjects, thus lessen the burden of the parents.

Therefore, with the bunch of benefits of a quality daycare centers, parents are lucky enough if they pick the right one for their child. But of course, the child still need to play with his Mommy and Daddy once the child goes home. He still needs a hug from you and the “how did your day” or “glad to have you back” routines. These will keep your child feel loved and cherished.

Parents want what’s only best for their kids. They want them to be always safe and in good hands. Unfortunately, as much as they want to look after them all the time, they have to earn money and work. Thus, they resort to child care facilities to take care of their child. Because of this, parents have to make extra effort to make sure that their children are safe.

There are a number ways to make sure that your child is getting the best that he deserves without you around. In choosing a daycare center for your child, you have to take the extra effort to assure their safety. Question the daycare facility with regards to their policies and procedures that should comply with the safety of your children at all times. Make sure that the child care facility is legal and has an up to date license approved by the government.

The McMartin preschool trial in the late ‘80s has caught much attention and scrutiny when it comes to child care. It even added more awareness to the parents with what they should check prior to choosing a daycare center. Additional information and techniques such as employee’s background, surveillance cameras, and monitoring devices has helped a lot in the assurance of the safety of the children. But still there are simple ways that you must not overlook that will help you feel assured with the safety of your child.

Check all the records of the employees such as records for past felony and misdemeanour records, including DUI, and state’s Sex Offender Registry. Make sure that proper documents are signed when picking up and dropping off your child and a list of persons who are allowed to fetch your child. You can even incorporate a special code word that you and your child only know so he/she won’t go with people who doesn’t know the code.

The facility and the area of the child care center shall also be checked for safety guidelines needed. All elevated surfaces such as stairs should all be guarded. The floor should be cushioned and not too hard in case of accidents. Make sure that there are tripping hazards, sharp corners, splinters, rusty nails, electrical outlets, choking hazards and other stuff that may cause accidents or harm to your child.

A national study was done state-wide by the Consumer Products Safety Commission in 1998 in 220 licensed child care facilities. Among the 220 child care facilities, two thirds were found to have violated at least one safety hazard. There was also an incident in1997 where in almost 31,000 children were rushed to the hospital in the United States due to injuries caused by accidents at schools and child care environments.

Thus, there are really a lot of possible things that can cause harm to your children. As parents, it is your responsibility to exert all the efforts in order to make sure that your child grows safe and healthy.

It is very important in a daycare center to have preventive measures against many and all sorts of illnesses. The preschool teachers and daycare provider plays a great role in maintaining optimal health conditions for the child as well as ensuring them of a germ free daycare.
The children’s good health should be the main concern of the daycare provider, with the priority of preventing illness in the daycare and preschool settings. A germ free environment is usually a great concern for parents and those caring for young children.

How can we keep the daycare setting germfree?

It is normally the case that a child presents with the first signs and symptoms of illness while at the daycare or preschool. For that reason, it is very important for daycare attendants or child caregivers in the facility to take measures to prevent the spread of illness.

Here are several measures that preschool teachers and daycare providers can undertake in order to prevent or control the spread of illness within the daycare facility:

*	Wash all hands with soap while rubbing hands vigorously under running water for at least 30 seconds. Wash thoroughly, including back of hands, wrists, between fingers and under your fingernails.

*	Isolate kids having coughs and colds to prevent infection from spreading. Young children are more vulnerable to respiratory and intestinal infections, and being surrounded by other children makes them more prone to contract infection and communicable diseases.

*	Besides the hands, bear in mind that the nose is the entry door for many of the germs affecting the ears and respiratory tract, so keep the nasal passages of the children under your care clear. Put into practice my two favorite nose-cleansing techniques: a “nose hose” (squirt saltwater drops into your toddler’s nose and suck it out with a nasal aspirator) and a “steam clean” (take your toddler in a steamy shower and encourage him to breathe deeply).

*	Always check and monitor each child’s immunization records and vaccines to make sure that they are all current. Make it a habit to ask the parents about their child’s scheduled checkups too, specially if the child has special immune-system needs that require special medical advice.

*	As a child care provider, daycare centers can enforce the policy of not admitting potentially contagious children. This can either be a direct refusal to accept the child in your daycare facility, or just send them home on particular days when they are really sick and still infectious. Registered and licensed daycare centers are required to have infection-control policies, so inform the parents about these early on.

*	Make sure that the rooms in your daycare facility are all well-ventilated with fresh air, and that children are encouraged to play outside as much as possible, good weather permitting.

*	And finally, a healthy diet would help the kids reach the potential food requirement for growth and development. Here are the foods that would help: fruits, vegetables, omega3 containing foods, spices and olive oil. Refrain from giving kids highly-sweetened food and drink.

Separation anxiety is the major problem which every child leaving to a day care experiences at some point of time. Many parents find it really comfy leaving their child at a day care centre while they head to work as they do not have time to take proper care of their tiny tot in the morning rush. On the other hand, it is your duty to make your child feel protected while you leave him/her at the day care centre so that they are not affected by the fear of parting. You need to come up with innovative ideas for this reason.

Though many kids enjoy the new surroundings and the company of other kids, there are still many kids who suffer from separation nervousness. Your first goal should be realize your child’s needs and fears. You need to be able to differentiate between bad behaviour and separation anxiety. You need to provide your child to pass throughout this changeover phase.

The first person a child looks forward to when he/she is feeling uncomfortable is his/her parent. It is your responsibility to free your kid of all the fears and concersn in his/her mind. You need to make sure that you spend quality time with your child before and after your kids are back from the day care centre. This is a high-quality way to make your child feel relaxed and comfortable. In case you are not comfortable and anxious about leave-taking your child at a day care centre, he/she is most likely to sense the anxiousness. You must prepare yourself and be confident about leaving your child at a day care centre. Your confidence must be visible in your actions and voice so that your child feels comfy too and feels secured that you are there for him.

Oftentimes, your tiny child starts off with his usual tantrums even before getting the day care centre. Though day care issues can affect the environment at your place, you have to device ways to keep it under control. Start being consistent! Stick to the schedule that you have chalked out. Do not look up for ways to jump over your chores that you have planned. This would make it more difficult for your child to pass through the transition phase. Tell your child stories about day care centers and what usually happens there. Explain it to him why you have to leave him there. Assure him that you will be back once you are done with your work. Get books on day care stories from the local library and read it out to him at bedtime. Spend as much time as you can with him when you are home.

The changeover phase can last up to two weeks or more depending mostly on your child. In case you think he/she is showing very serious reactions while dropping him off, than what used to be there previously, it is a suggestion that you may have to call off the service as soon as likely.
