When searching for nanny jobs or child care jobs, one of the most important tools is your child care resume or CV. The resume is what you will give to potential employers before they ever meet you. This document lists your skills, experience, and education and explains why you are qualified to care for young children. Creating a resume is fairly simple and an excellent resume can lead to excellent child care employment. Be sure to include the following information on your resume:

Personal Information: The personal information on your resume should include your name, address, home and mobile telephone numbers, and email address.

Objective: Here, you will briefly list the type of job or experience you are looking for. For example, “Seeking a challenging and rewarding position as a preschool teacher’s aide that will provide the opportunity for me to utilize my experience, training, and creativity to foster growth in young children”.

Summary of Skills: List the skills that make you a qualified and unique daycare provider. Some examples include having a strong background in early childhood education, your ability to develop age-appropriate curriculum and activities, or your nurturing and mentoring capabilities. List 3 to 4 of your strongest skills in this section.

Experience: Here, you will list the previous daycare jobs you have held. Include the name of the daycare, organization or family you worked for, the location (city and state) and your job title. You will also include the dates that you held the position. For each daycare job you will create a short bulleted list of the duties and responsibilities that you performed for the job. For example you may list, “Organized field trips for 20 preschoolers to education venues such as the library, the aquarium, and the petting zoo” or “Developed daily lesson plans” or “Observed and assessed the development of children ages 2-4”. Be specific and succinct.

Education: Be sure to list your high school and college experience. List any degrees you have earned. Also mention any child care certificates or early childhood education units earned from workshops and seminars.

Special Skills: You may want to include a section that lists your unique proficiencies or qualifications that would make you stand out from others. For example, if you have experience working with special education children, if you are Infant CPR and First Aid certified, or if you have special creative talents, be sure to list them in this section.

At the bottom of the resume, include a statement that says “References: Available on Request”. Then, on a separate piece of paper you will create a reference list. The reference list is a list of former employers or families that you have worked for that can attest to your skills and education and work ethic. List the reference’s name or name of the business, phone number, and email address. An employer will request your reference list if they are interested in gathering more background information about you.

Most importantly, keep your resume short and simple. If a resume is too confusing or too wordy it can easily end up in the round file before the employer ever gets to meet you. Let your resume let child care centers know that you will be a valuable asset.

In this economy it is extremely important to market your business as a high quality and unique business so that it stands out from others. Specialized child care services are in high demand and offering them can be extremely lucrative for your thriving daycare business.

There are many types of unique childcare services that your daycare business might offer:

24 hour child care: Most daycare centers open at 6 am and close at 6 pm. Daycare that offers its services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, is a growing trend and a necessity for some families. Some parents work long or overnight shifts like nurses and truck drivers must. Sometimes parents have to unexpectedly take an extra shift and need emergency child care services. Sometimes, a parent changes shifts from day to night. Twenty four hour daycare is extremely convenient and can be a true lifesaver.

Vacation Daycare: If your childcare business is situated in a vacation town, consider offering vacation daycare services. Perhaps your business is in lovely Santa Barbara. Visitors with small children may plan to spend a romantic evening wine tasting and having dinner. These parents can then make a reservation with your daycare business, which of course has proven to provide high-level child-care services on a 24-hour basis. Parents can then arrange to have their children taken care of by your daycare center for a particular window of time, anytime of the day.

Green Daycare: As our society becomes more and more environmentally conscious, green (or environmentally friendly) daycare centers are increasingly in demand. A green child care center takes special measures to ensure that the environment provides the best in health for children, offering locally-grown or organic food, and celebrating multiculturalism. Green daycare centers are concerned with harmful chemicals, pesticides and do their best to eliminate them. Children are taught to respect the earth and its precious resources.

Sick Daycare: When a parent has an important meeting and their child is sick and will be excluded from daycare, what does he or she do? There is a definite need for childcare centers that serve as an infirmary for mildly ill children on an emergency basis. Each day more than 350,000 children under the age of 14 years with both parents working are too sick to attend school or child care. The National Association for Sick Childcare has a wealth of information about creating such programs.

Drop In-Childcare: Drop-in daycare is basically back-up childcare. For example, if a parent has a doctor’s visit, an event that is not appropriate for kids, something unexpected comes up, or has a date, this type of childcare option is extremely convenient. Once their children are enrolled, parents can then take the kids to drop-in child care for necessary periods of time. While not around the clock care, drop-in childcare is usually open 7 days a week and offers later hours of service.

Niche daycare is an important consideration in these tough economic times. If your child care center offers specialized childcare services, be sure to use that as a selling point when creating your daycare business plan and marketing your daycare business.

What is one activity that children love to do? This may seem such a difficult question to answer, but if you just took your time and notice what children love to do, you might find the answer. Children find it enjoyable to read. Maybe because of the curiosity that they have, children are always excited to read and learn new things. At their age, reading gives the children a lot of information added to their knowledge. There are so many lessons that they can learn when they read books. As parents, you may know that if there is one thing that you should invest in when it comes to your child’s learning, these are books.

First Things First
The first thing that you should be able to accomplish is to teach the children how to read. This is the first step in teaching your child the value of reading books. How can they enjoy something which they do not know how to do right? How are you going to start with this? There are a lot of questions that you want to ask when it comes to teaching your child how to start reading, so here is how it is done.

Wordless picture books are a great way to start teaching your child. These books are full of pictures which tell a story without the sentences or words that usually come with these. This is quite effective for pre school children since the pictures create a story as they are viewed in sequential order. Through this, your child will learn that reading is done from left to right with the right way of flipping the pages. This will give them the sense of the right way of reading a book. As you read to them, they will be able to make up their own dialogues as well as story lines as they read each picture. This can encourage them to become readers in the future.

Slowly Build Up
The advantage of having wordless picture books is the way in which you can adjust story telling. Since there are no words that accompany each page, you have the liberty to add or make the stories more complex as you read to your child. You will be able to add certain details as slowly as you can. You can add verb, adjectives, nouns and so on which can add to the vocabulary of your child. The tenses can also be varied as well as well as the tones in the dialogues. This makes your story telling as versatile as you want it to be. You can add more event as well as dialogues each time you read the story to your child. This will expand his imaginations when it comes to reading books.

Let Him Read
Encouraging interaction between you and your child will make reading a more enjoyable and fun activity for your child. You can start reading the first page of the story and ask your child to continue what you have started. This will make you child be more attentive to what you are saying to him. You will be able to enhance the communication skills that you children is developing. One way to make this very effective is by asking him questions along the way, this will make your child pay more attention to the details of the book as well as make his imagination work. If you think that your child is ready, your child can even be the one to make up his own story. He can have his share of reading by asking him to read the story for you. This will give you a chance to evaluate the reading progress of your child.

What should you look for when you evaluate your child? You need to know that good readers follow a certain sequence that is logical. They have a way of organizing their thoughts into events that should happen logically. Besides from this, your child should be able to pay attention to as much details as possible. They are not expected to just notice what id obvious but they need to make sure that each and every detail is not missed as he looks at every picture. They are able to practice their comprehension skills. Through the pictures only, the children are expected to be able to make sense out of them. They should be able to come up with a story which has a unified theme. Part of this includes the elements of the story such as the plot, tone and the characters. By having an idea on these things, your child will have an easier time when it comes to reading various stories in the future.

Basically, wordless picture books prepared the child and equip them for future reading. Even if these books do not have words with them, the children are able to develop their reading skills. They will understand the concept that books have a begin, middle and an end. Their comprehension skills as well as imagination are enhanced as they are reading these books. These are two things which are very important when somebody reads a book because without these things, you will never really understand and enjoy reading a book.

Communication is also one thing which you need to enhance as your child is reading a book. They need to understand the sequences as well as the tenses which they are reading. As of now, as long as they are able to make up something out of the pictures, is already a great improvement for your child.

Do not get into a hurry by buying your children all those complicated books. Sometimes, all you need are the most simple things when you want your child to learn. Start from the basics and you will find it easier to develop more complex reading skills for your child. Teaching your child how to read is not that hard. You just need to know how to teach them in the right way. If you do, see how your child will easily be inclined to read as he grows older.

As a teacher, you know well that every single child has his own unique abilities and learning skills. The class will always have mixed personalities and several challenges to your teaching abilities may arise. You can often observe that some children are behind others when it comes to lessons and other activities such as communicating with each other. They are the ones who need more attention as well as support and encouragement.

The reason, maybe, is that those children may have speech or language problems and they are having a hard time understanding other people. It may seem hard to deal with them because of their condition. Most teachers think that since they did not have the proper training, they will have difficulties in handling this situation. But dealing with these kids, is just similar to teaching other normal kids. You have to have the passion and the determination to help the kid correct his defects and encourage him to communicate with others. Sometimes, the caring attitude and the encouragement you can give the child are enough to help him overcome his communication problems. There is not much need for a specialized training regarding the child’s conditions.

In aiming to help a child overcome his speech problems, giving him specific activities for speech improvement is not the best way. You must think of much more ways to assist him other than give him particular tasks that will not do him so much good. You must then monitor him through all the routines even after the tasks were accomplished and engage him into a lot of interactions.

During the class, you must keep in mind to observe him not just for a particular activity but through out the class and every time you have the chance to interact with him. There are some key points you have to keep in mind in teaching the any kids regarding language. Here are some suggestions on how parents or teachers can encourage the kids into talking and communicating.

1.	Observe the child first to know up to what extent are his abilities. Assess from time to time to know if there are some improvements in what he can and he cannot do. Take not of any improvement, no matter how big or small it is.

2.	Think yourself as a foreign teacher. In teaching a foreign language, you should start from the basics and keep a slower pace. You can apply this in talking to the child. Talk to him slowly and make sure he understands everything you’ve said. Repeat or rephrase your statement until he understands completely. The teacher should speak at a rate the child can grasp and understand so that the child can respond successfully.

3.	Use statements more often instead of questions. Using questions tests the child’s ability to answer while using statements does not oblige him to respond readily. Recall the time when you are studying a foreign language. You don’t want your teacher asking you a lot of questions, right? Because aside from translating his questions in your mind, you are then to formulate your answer and deliver it in the language you are still learning. But when the teacher is just talking in a conversational tone, you feel more comfortable and then you can join in anytime you feel like it.

4.	Present the language barely above or just in line of the child’s ability. Start from a complete sentence and gradually reduce it to the length the child can absorb and eventually respond to.

5.	Don’t help the child too much for him to develop a sense of independence. Let him do the things that he can do all by himself. Only help him if you feel that he’s having a hard time and he really needs assistance.

A report was written by a child psychologist about a pre-school kid after observing the child inside the class. His diagnosis is that the child is autistic and the parents completely disagree with it. Though he does not talk much at school, he interacts well with his mother and is normal at home. The truth is that he has speech and language problems.

In the report, the psychologist gave suggestions into how the teachers could promote the child’s participation. She observed that the staff interacts with the child without any verbal communication. For example, they give out snacks without engaging the child in a conversation. Whenever the child does not follow direction to join the group at a table, he was picked up by an aide and put on a chair. Whenever he has trouble with other kids, he was just removed from the situation.

What is really needed is that the usual activities which require his interaction with other people be treated as opportunity to teach him the language. A child who does not comply with the instructions may be did not understand the directions given to him. They may therefore be repeated and rephrased until the child understands and give him the least assistance in completing the task.

The major benefit of early schooling is that the child gaining social interaction skills at early age. Whenever he has conflict with other child, what he needs is a supportive mediation by an adult who can guide both of the kids into a verbal interaction and agreement.

There are therefore ways of interacting with young children to help them improve their language, speech and communication skills. The said techniques may be simple but they make take some time and practice to acquire. But once you acquire them, they become your automatic way of helping the children learn things. Adults, specially teachers and parents must consider the child’s interaction styles, study them and formulate ways on how to effectively interact with the child. Children need the support and encouragement of their mentors to be able to learn how to socialize. Socializing is a skill better acquired at an early age and is therefore instilled in children.

In the revolutionary review “Becoming a Nation of Readers” of 1986, the Commission on reading stressed that reading aloud to children is “the single most important activity for building the knowledge required for success in reading.” It is important to expose children to books at a very early age, in as early as six week old. Babies this young already like to look at pictures and hear stories. Accordingly, children already start to develop an awareness of printed letters and words by the age of two or three, by seeing surrounding adults writing, reading, typing, etc. Preschoolers and toddlers are particularly eager to learn from adults reading to them and with them.

It is crucial to read aloud to young children because it allows them to absorb the information and skills they require to do well in academics and their everyday life, and these include:

Familiarity with printed letters and words, as well as the connection between print and sound.

Wide variety of words and their meaning.

Books – what they are, as well as their use and importance

The world around them and everything in it

Formal and informal language

The happiness that reading can give

When reading aloud to children, the following practices can help improve retention and comprehension:

Let children experience reading as a pleasurable activity. Make sure that you and the kids are seated in a comfortable area where they can sit near you. Make them feel warm and sheltered. As much as you can, try to express the emotions contained in the story you are reading. This will not only make the children more interested, they will also feel involved. If they enjoy the experience, they will definitely look forward to another reading session with you.

Read aloud on a regular basis. Make reading aloud an everyday activity. Create a schedule within the day, and —

Read at the beginning of the day or before going to bed.

Read after playtime as this helps children to settle down.

Read while the kids are having their snack and before taking a nap.

Make reading a learning experience. Explain words, phrases, or sentences that can be confusing or vague. Ask the views, observations, or opinion of the kids on what you are reading. If you are reading a picture book, explain what the picture(s) is all about and how it related to the story. If you are reading a story which is set in a particular place or timeframe, give the kids a backgrounder about that place or time period. Discuss the feelings and actions of the character with the children. Look for opportunities to connect the story to everyday life or school activities.

Ask questions while you are reading. Think of questions that can relate the story to the life and experience of your young audience. Make them compare the story to other stories they’ve heard. You can also ask them to guess what will happen next or what the ending will be.

Discuss the book with the children. Once you’ve finished reading, ask the children what they think of the book or the story they just heard. Ask questions that will make them express their feelins and opnions about the book. It would also be good to make them pick a part or character they like the most. Ask them as well how they understood the book/story and the lessons they’ve learned from it.

Read different types of books. Do not limit yourself with story books. Various kinds of books help children to learn different kinds of information and skills. Storybooks promote creativity and make children learn about different cultures, eras, and people. It can also make them understand how people think, act, and feel differently. On the other hand, informational books give children useful facts about the world and everyday life. It also widens their vocabulary and make them learn concepts that will assist them in school. books. Story books and informational books both contribute to the mental and emotional growth of children. Just make sure to choose materials that are appropriate to the age of the group you are reading to.

Read books that will assist you in teaching. Alphabet books will help you teach letters, their sound, and what they look like. In the same way, counting books teach number recognition and counting. When teaching about phonological awareness, use poetry books or books about nursery rhyme. Try to find oversized books, or books with big prints and pictures as this will help kids remember easily. Pick out stories that teach about socialization, and how to properly relate to other people (ex. Books on friendship, cooperation, etc.). Books that tell about how nature works to give them an idea or two about the world and their environment.

Do not hesitate to repeat favorite books. Its no surprise that kids love to hear their favourite books again and again. Reading books repeatedly actually improve the comprehension skills of children and discover new things. For instance, after hearing a story twice or trice, children may come to understand the meaning of some words they had trouble understanding when they first heard the story/book.

Books that are suitable for reading aloud

Alphabet books. These books show the upper and lower case form of the alphabet letters and feature pictures of things that begin with the letter’s sound.

Counting or number books. These books not only show the basic numerals, they also illustrate them with the use of pictures (ex. Two monkeys, five dinosaurs, etc.)

Concept books. Books like these are meant to impart basic ideas that will assit children in school. Examples of concept books are books about color, shapes, sizes, opposites, farm animals, vehicles, and more.

Nursery rhymes. These books have different rhymes and verses that can be easily remembered and recited by children.

Pattern books and repetitive stories. In this kind of book, a phrase or sentence is repeated in the story forming a thought or pattern. You will notice that after reading a page or two of this book, your audience will have already learned the repeated phrase or sentence. This experience usually gives enjoyment especially to young children.

Traditional literature. Examples of traditional literature are fairy tales, folktales, fables, myths, and legends from different countries and time periods. These type of stories help children learn different eras, cultures, people, traditions, and practices. Meanwhile, stories like Cinderella differ from one country or culture to another and is interesting to discuss.

Wordless picture books. Books like these tell stories with the use of pictures alone. These books allow children to tell the story in their own version, which in turn enhances their creativity, language, as well as their sense of event sequencing

How to Keep Teachers Safe from Infection by Pinworms
Teachers are usually very prone into getting infections. Certain steps have to be taken by teachers in order for them to avoid infections and for them to ensure that the classroom where they conduct their teaching is free from pinworm-infestation. But before anything else, it is very important that teachers understand what really pinworms are.

Pinworms are roundworms that are small in terms of size. Their colour ranges from white to yellow-white. What they usually produce is a rectal area that is irritated, itchy, and red. Pinworms are oftentimes being seen at the middle of night time, usually on the hours when children are already fast asleep. The itch that they create is mostly felt during this time of the night. In these hours, female pinworms are coming out from the body. Then they will lay their eggs in the area near the anus. They do this when the host is sleeping.

Children that are aged five to ten are very prone to pinworm infections. It is very easy to contract pinworms. Though pinworm infections are very common, it is not hard to avoid its spread within the classroom.

Preventing Pinworm Infection within the Classroom
The best way by which teachers could avoid having a pinworm infestation within the classroom is by instructing teaching students to properly wash their hands. Children must always be motivated to wash their hands. They must always remember that hygiene is very important. A good way of doing that is by having hand washing charts inside the classroom, wherein students could place stickers whenever they wash their hands.

There are other different methods by which pinworm infections could be avoided. Among those are the following:

•	Do not let students suck different objects such as their hands, fingers, or their writing materials like the pencil, ballpen, or crayon. These materials could be contaminated and could be a possible source of pinworms.

•	Do not allow students to bite their nails.

•	Inform also the parents about pinworm infections. By keeping them knowledgeable about the said infection, they would be able to conduct necessary steps to avoid having that infection.

In addition to those things listed above, what is most important is that the surroundings of the classroom must be ensured to be always clean and sanitized. In this way, contaminated surfaces will be avoided from getting contact with the children. This is very important especially for those surfaces where children are consuming their snacks or their lunches.

Diagnosing and Treating Pinworm Infections
It is not easy for teachers to diagnose pinworm infections because its nature is very personal. However, there are signs that could be easily spotted. These warning signs must be immediately be said to the parents so that they could take the most appropriate actions. One of the signs that a child is infected with pinworm is if he often scratches his rectal area. Also, if a child is shifting restlessly in his seat, he may also be infected. Another sign is if a child always complains of an itching feeling.

Treating pinworms is quite simple. The normal thing that is being done after being diagnosed of having the infection is that a child is tasked to take a medicine. All that has to be followed is the dosage prescribed by the doctor.

A Simple Introduction To Child Care At Home
The activities of a daycare centre are programmed to help your child in his or her development. These activities are often simple things that a parent can do when they are at home. Just remember that when you do these activities to your children, repetition is the key. Repetitive activities are more instrumental in a child’s learning.

An important thing to remember is that not all children in a daycare have the same capacity to learn. The thing is those who are a little advanced in learning can not go one step ahead of the other children. This is why it is important to know that the age groups are the determining factor of a child’s learning ability in a daycare. The interest level of these children may not be at the same level with each age group. Like not all activities done by toddlers work for the babies age group.

The Age Group Pattern
The age groups are arranged in the following manner…

-	The babies ages ranges from newborn to a year old.

-	The toddler age group ranges from a year old to three

-	And the preschool age group ranges from three years old to five.

The good thing about these daycare activities is that they are different from one age group to another. Loud reading activities are very good activities. This is a good activity even when you do this at home because it requires the use if an illustration book which when the child sees, he will identify the words phonetically. Written are more the focus of children in the higher age groups. This will also allow you to interact with the child as you can already ask them to identify in spoken language what these words are. The trick here is to transfer some of the reading process to your child. And soon, your child will start recognizing the forms of the letters and to some extent the whole word. And when she is familiar with a certain word, you can point at it everytime you two encounter that word.

For every age group, the year starts with the listing if what the child has accomplished and what are the behaviours the child has developed. Then you can follow this with another list containing the things that you can do to help your child develop and learn more. Then again, you should always remember that different children learn at different rates and that the age grouping is just a guide.

There are a few tips in doing these activities. First, you have to integrate the element of fun when doing these activities with your child. You can do this by being energetic and enthusiastic about the activities. When the child feels the fun in doing the activity, then the learning will follow naturally. Second, you can do some activities that are designed for a specific age group with children in other age groups. And lastly, it is important that you look for activities that will spark the interest of your child. Do not pick out activities that the child finds difficulty in doing.

In the area of child care business, networking proves to be a good strategy. Networking in child care services allows the child care business to have more clients through recommendations, more fresh ideas that will help their business and possible resources that will also aid in making your child care business a success. It also allows room for each of child care business to have a sense of camaraderie and support relating to the various topics that concern them. This includes issues on accounting, health and child abuse. Moreover, networking in daycare businesses encourage community, connectivity, and collaboration which are important factors that help the business do well.

How to Network in the Child Care Business

Organizations
One of the easiest ways of networking in the DayCare Business is through membership of a child care organization. These child care organizations, both local and national, offer the best chance of making connections with other child care business owners. Some of these organizations are: The National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), The Canadian Child Care Federation and The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).

Conventions, Seminars, and Continuing Education
Another way of networking in this business is through child care conventions and seminars. These provide child care providers along with the owners, directors, and administrators of early education program a great position to extend their network. Schedules of child care conferences and conventions could be looked up at ChildcareExchange.com.

Online Communities and Forums
In this age of technology, the best, fastest, and the easiest way of creating and extending a network is through the use of the World Wide Web. It makes communication between child care providers faster and easier. Daycare.com, OwnADaycare.com, and About.com are some of the websites which have forums that allow child care providers discuss related topics like some of their problems and share resources.

State Networks
State networks together with their local child care resource and referral (CCR&R) partners are of valuable help for families, childcare providers and communities in finding offers of affordable and quality child care. According to the studies made by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACRRA), more than 700 child care resource referral partners situated in every state and most communities in the nation [NACRRA website, 2009].

The Public Library
Public Libraries are one of the best medium in connecting and providing knowledge, literacy and education to the community which is very important to child care providers. Other libraries have Preschool Partnership Networking Groups wherein youth services librarians could work closely with local preschool patrons, community preschool and child care providers.

Child Care Donation Networking
The Giftberry Network (Giftberry.org) is a donation networking website that assists in bringing non-profit organizations and companies that has an interest in donating together. Getting involved with networking websites like this one is very beneficial for the owners of non-profit child care centers.

Having created a network, it is always a good idea to have a constant communication with them either through e-mails or phone calls. This way you could keep them posted and keep a lasting and beneficial relationship not only with other child care providers but also with those that are in the field of early childhood education. Considering the benefits that networking has to offer, it proves to be an essential strategy in making child care businesses prosper.

When running a daycare center, it is the responsibility of the daycare to provide snacks during the mid-morning and mid-afternoon. The center must follow the National Network for Childcare which indicates that the total caloric intake for a child should be 1000-1200 calories. The snacks should cover at least 20-25% of the total caloric intake.

Since the snack covers around one forth of the total caloric intakes of the child, it is important that the center should provide snacks that are nutritious and healthy. It is advised that the snacks shall be made from the important food groups such as vegetables, grains, fruits and other vitamins and minerals. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the toddler’s food pyramid suggests that if a 2-year old child has around 60 minutes of exercise a day, then he should consume about 1 cup of vegetable, one cup of fruit, 3 ounces of grains and 2 cups of milk every day.

The author of the forthcoming book Early Sprouts and the creator of the Early Sprouts curriculum, Dr. Karrie Kalich, who is also an assistant professor of health science at Keene State College created a one week sample of healthy snack menu ideas for young preschoolers.

For mid-morning snacks, there are different snacks that are tasty but still provide the needed nutrients of the kids. Whole wheat pita bread and sunflower seed butter is very healthy because of the grains that it contains. Bite size shredded oat squares together with pear, plum, apple and other fruits will provide the daily fruit requirements. It is also sweet and delicious. Oranges slices and Ak Mak crackers as well as Carrots with Wheat Chex Cereal and Kashi Autumn Harvest Cereal with strawberry and banana smoothie are other healthy snack ideas for kids. The kids will surely love these tasty treats.

There are also mid-afternoon snacks for preschoolers that are yummy and healthy. Sliced Cabot 50% reduced cheddar cheese together with fruits or Kashir Cinnamon Harvest Cereal topped with apple or pear slices is a perfect combination of fruits and dairy products with grains. You can also give the kids some pasta made from whole wheat penne or kamut spirals with olive oils, froze peas and parmesan. You can even use some leftover fruits and make smoothies with yogurt and milk. Whole wheat grain crackers are also good source of grains.

The suggested foods mentioned are usually for children 2-4 years old. If you plan to give this to children under the age of two, you must use full-fat dairy. It is also recommended to give the children fresh water during meals.

Childcare centers shall also practice healthy eating to become nutrition mentors for the kids. It is important that kids will see that even the teachers and staff are eating healthy food. It will also be helpful if the staff will provide activities that will encourage children to eat healthy. The kids should also be informed about the nutrition that they need and the positive effects that they will get when they eat healthy. The United States Department of Agriculture and the National Food Service Management Institute offers help for the childcare providers by providing them with different tools and resources for a healthy diet plan for the kids.
