Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on May 5. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the day the Battle of Puebla was won by Mexican peasants over French soldiers on May 5, 1862 under the direction of General Zaragoza. Cinco de Mayo is a great time for daycare providers to enhance their lesson plans with story-time books and activities that celebrate the victor at the Battle of Puebla and Mexican heritage.
