Raising a child can really be one of the most complicated things that you will ever experience as a parent. There are so many things that you need to remember to ensure that your child is developing properly. At this stage, this is where they will learn what is right and what is wrong. They will even be prone to accidents since they will be exploring a lot during this stage. If you are a busy parent, your only option may be is to send your child to a day care center. This can really be a hard decision to do. You need to make sure that your child is safe even if you are not around.

Making friends is one of the things that your child must do in a day care center. They need to learn social skills as early as that stage because they will bring these until they grow up. In order for your child to make friends easily, you need to show them the proper way of making friends with other kids. You need to make them feel positive whenever you send them to the day care center. Do not remind them of so many things because this will only irritate your child. Allow them to view the day care center as a place where they will have fun. When you get there, greet the staff and other kids. This will show your child that it is that easy to make friends with other people. They need to overcome being shy so that they can easily interact with others.

Since your child is still learning at this stage, it is your responsibility as a parent to tell him what is right and what is wrong. If you observe that your child is starting to obtain bad habits, tell them that he should not imitate that trait and explain why it is bad. Be as gentle as possible because this might offend your child. Never tell them to stay away from their friends or even build a bad image of his friends. Just be straightforward in telling them that it is bad to possess that trait.

If your child is being aggressive at the day car center, it is probably because of his excitement of being with other children. Ask the staff how he is doing in the day care center when you are not around. Never get mad at them for being aggressive. This will only provoked your child to act more aggressive in the day care center. The reason why the child may be aggressive is because of the attention that he will get from the staff member that is taking care of them. Children usually love the attention that they get which is why they do things that will make them stand out. What you need to do is to ask the director if your child can be moved in a smaller group. This will allow your child to feel that he is given equal attention as the other kids. This will lessen his aggressive attitude if he feels this.

Food is one thing that you should not overlook when you are sending your child to a day care center. You need to ensure that your child is being fed properly during meal time. You can ask them for a menu of the food that they will serve. Check if they are giving your child a balanced meal. It is important that you check if they are served in the proper proportions of food. This is essential for the growth and development of your child. Also, make a list of allergies or conditions such as being lactose intolerant for the person in charge for food. It is important that your child will be serve that is healthy for him and will not cause any harm and jeopardize his health.

All day care centers have their own playgrounds. If you are scared that your child might get wounds or injury, always be prepared for these things. Children will be rowdy and adventurous when they are outdoors so they will most likely be candidates for tripping and wounds. Not allowing them to play outdoors in not an option for you. It is now your responsibility to check the playground first. You need to check if the playground equipments are in good condition. Broken part of the playground can also cause injuries for your child. So you need to make sure that you have checked for possible causes of injury. Tell these to the day care manager so that they can do something about it and ensure a safe playground for the children.

Always pack play clothes for your child. You need to remind your child that he should change in his play clothes before going to the playground. Make sure that he is wearing light clothes that have no strings or chains that might get caught in plants and other things that will cause harm to your child. You should always tell your child to change their clothes after playing.

Make sure that there is someone watching over the children when they are in the playground. This should be part of the day care center’s protocol. This will make playtime safer for the children. If there are accidents that may happen, at least you are sure that there is someone who will immediately attend to your child.

It is part of your responsibility to check on the procedures that day care centers provide to ensure safety of the child. You need to make sure that everything is clear before you enroll your child. This will prevent conflicts between you and the owner. When you have enrolled your child there, make sure that you monitor the progress of your child. You child might learn things that are wrong, so you need to correct him. Children are sensitive at this stage that is why you need to be as gentle as possible. Day care centers are not the only ones responsible for ensuring the proper development of your child. It is your responsibility too, so make sure that you are also doing your part in raising your child properly.

Choosing the right child care provider is crucial. It is indeed important to know all the options available for such service. There are four providers that can be considered in your options.

1. Relatives, Neighbors and Friends. This option is usually called “Kith and Kin” in which closer people are chosen to be the care provider for the child, usually takes place in the home of the child or of the care provider. Parents can choose to allot their time by scheduling their work and child care.

People, specifically parents, find this option advantageous because of different reasons. They think that relatives and friends will provide more sincere and secure care for their child. Also, they believe that these people will instill good family values to their child. Constraints like tight schedule and budget, problems on transportation sometimes lead parents to choose this kind of option.

Regulations in this kind of child care differ from state to state. Criminal history screening like child abuse checks, clearances, and minimal safety and health trainings are sometimes required by some. However, many have no strict regulations on this child care option.

2. Family Child Care. Child care provider’s home is the setting for this option. Sometimes, parents seek for referrals from trusted friends before availing of this. Parents find this beneficial for their child because of the environment that is home-like it offers and smaller number of children in it.

Compared to the option earlier described, states are stricter when it comes to regulation. Requirements are necessary like conformation to certain set standards on safety, nutrition and health; trainings before child care and alongside with it; passing certain inspections; and checking of criminal records.

3. Home-based Caregivers. In this child care option, caregivers stay in the home of the child to be taken care of. Examples of caregivers are housekeepers and nannies. Parents having several children find this more practical because one caregiver manage to handle them. They also find this option better because it is more convenient and they have more control on the safety, security, and caring to their child.

Some states apply minimal regulation on this type of child care, especially the placement agencies for home-based caregivers. Some also require subsidies for the caregivers, and also checking of criminal records, securing of clearances, and undergoing safety and health trainings. But most of the states do not pose regulations for this option.

4. Child Care Centers. Centers providing this type of child care cater to a much larger number of children. Parents who choose this kind of care believe that there is a higher level of safety and dependability because of greater state inspections and regulations and the integrity of the center. They also believe that learning will be better facilitated by greater number of staff, equipments, space and organization of activities.

Licensing, which depends on the state, is required to child care centers based on safety and health standards.

When it comes to evaluation of the child care provider your child is into, there are a set of criteria you should consider to gauge its quality. The criteria are listed below.

For general evaluation:
•	practices on discipline
•	enjoyment of children
•	fulfillment of children’s needs for comfort
•	license and conformation with regulations
•	openness to surprise parent visits
•	suitability of your child

For the evaluation of the caregivers:
•	interest on caring for the children
•	ability to reach out to the child’s level
•	amiability
•	quick accommodation of the needs of children
•	safety skills like first aid, CPR, and others.
•	education and training
•	ability to cope with varying interest of children
•	openness to questions and readiness to answer such
•	reporting of the child’s progress
•	openness to parents’ involvement
•	acceptable staff-child ratio, whose standard is set by local experts

For the setting evaluation:
•	conducive atmosphere
•	manageability and safety of area and equipment
•	enough space for all the activities

For the evaluation of activities:
•	balance of activities
•	appropriateness of activities to different age groups
•	supply and safety of equipments

Various complaints have already been aired by women who want to start their own small business particularly a child care center in order to help and support their families. Whatever type of business you choose to open and start with, it is certainly important for you to get the help of your partner.

Any husband would as much as possible like to avoid disasters in their own home that is why they probably do not like the idea of starting a small business most especially if you have plans of starting it at home. Commitment is very much important when you start any type of small business and most husbands immediately run just at the thought of it.

It’s actually supposed to be a give and take relationship. Women should understand that just like them, men are actually very protective of their own private spaces. When your husband is working all day he’s concerned that he’ll have to come home and work there too with feeding babies, helping ship out products, what ever your business may involve.

However, it’s also important for men to realize that you are earning money for the family and that he ought to be happy. Unfortunately not all husbands think this way so it’s your job to emphasize all the great things that will happen because of your home business. And of course realize that your family will need their space so in the beginning just realize this and keep your distance till the money start’s rolling in. They will get the picture.

Hiring Your Children to Work in Your Day Care Center

Is it really possible for you to hire your own children to work in your own daycare? The answer is definitely yes.

It is possible for you to hire your own child to work in your own daycare center. The only important thing that you have to make sure of is that your child should undergo the proper and necessary training that is needed in order to succeed in the career. As your child, it is especially important to be trained because this means that your child will eventually become the successor of your business.

For this very reason alone, it is certainly important for you to know that your children just need to be trained properly and their eyes ought to be opened to the realities of starting your own business. This means that when your child understands how the trend works, then it would certainly be so much easier for your children to determine whether or not they are actually interested to work in your Daycare center in the future.

Opening and exposing them to the realities of starting a daycare center is also a good learning curve for your child since this will help them grow to become much more responsible and well respected individuals that they can ever be in their whole lifetime as well.

When your work status is impartial on a knife-edge, even the least distraction can confirm to be very expensive. So how is someone likely to perform the position of parent and worker at the same time? Certainly this is impossible! Well, even if this already the case, the human species continues to multiply at a blinding rate. A daycare centre certainly shelters your child in your nonappearance. A number of entourage are hired to appear after the children as well, however, they are still absolute strangers to us. Also, a daycare service for your child is supposed to provide a well balanced diet. In truth this point is extremely debatable, as we cannot judge the quality of food dispensed at the centre. However, we can certainly question the type of food on offer. A daycare centre, in all likelihood, is inadequately funded. The repercussions are fairly disturbing and at times distressing to the parent. Statistics inform us that a majority of generated income is channeled toward staff and overhead charges. As a result, the centre is left with little or no money to procure a superior meal for your child. In fact, a large number of daycare centers do not provide meals at all. Countless studies have conclusively confirmed that health problems of adults are linked to malnutrition during their childhood years.

Since each parent wants the very finest for his or her child they should investigate the worth and type of food provided by their daycare centre. Do not suppose sensitive information such as exact figures of income and spending as they are either withheld from outsiders or anonymous to the staff themselves. On the other hand, you are well within your rights to demand a list of food items that constitute your child’s daycare meal. Once you are armed with this information, you can now substitute the missing food groups into your child’s daily diet. It is advisable to approach a qualified nutritionist for help with your child’s diet plan.

Lastly, we must also find out whether the centre has any restrictions against parents supplying food items. Several centers highlight health codes violations and allow only authorized food items into the facility. However, if the daycare diet plan is inadequate you need to reconsider admitting your child into this particular centre. Remember, your child comes before your convenience.
