Children need to have their nap time for them to rest and develop. As a daycare owner, you can schedule a nap time for the children in your care. The nap time can start at 12 noon everyday. Since the children get exhausted from the activities that you do in the morning like playing and the like, they need enough rest to gain more energy.

Babies sleep in cots during nap time while the older kids sleep on their sleeping bag or mat. If other children don’t want to rest and sleep, you can prevent them from disturbing the other children while letting them read a book or draw. Nap time is also an appropriate time for the caregivers to have their rest. Just make sure that they still keep an eye for the children while they rest.

It would be quite hard for a child to follow the schedule that you made for naptime so you have to help or supervise them. You can use a blanket, a pillow or a cuddly stuffed toy to put him to sleep. You can also rub his back and speak softly and leave him for approximately five minutes. Return to the child and rub his back again until he settles to sleep. Normally, it would take a child two weeks to get used to this routine. It would also help if you put up movable dividers where the children sleep in between to minimize disturbance. Check the kids every after a few minutes to make sure that they are soundly asleep.

Naptime is also a peaceful and quiet time for the provider and it would be a nice time to eat your lunch and rest. In addition, you can also attend to your other tasks which you cannot do while the kids are around.

Benefits of Having a Playground in your Daycare Center

One of the best ways to keep the children under your care entertained is by letting them play in the playground. Most, if not all, children brighten up when they see a colourful slide or a shiny swing. Playgrounds not only lighten your load in planning an activity for the children but they also keep the atmosphere fun-filled and enjoyable. In addition to these, having a playground will only cost you a one time expense on the purchase except for maintenance which is only seldom.

Aside from the benefits stated above, there are also other advantages in having a playground. First is that playing promotes and develops the child’s physical fitness. The slides, swings, jungle gyms and tire swings involve aerobic exercise and help the children build their muscles. Playing keeps the children healthy and prevent them from having obesity problems. Letting the child play in the playground is far better than letting him play all alone because the calories are being burned when they play with other children. This will lessen their susceptibility to diabetes II and obesity while having a lot of fun at play!

The children also develop their social skills when they play. They get to share the different play equipments and interact with other children. It also allows the children to learn how to collaborate with other children and combine the toys that they have with each other. The interactions help them realize their role in a community at an early age.

New friendships can also be brought by playgrounds. Since all the children join together to play, they are able to experience how to interact with other people and be comfortable in staying in large groups. This will help them build friendship and expand their social circle. They are also able to decrease their shyness when they are exposed to a lot of people. And lastly, the hyperactive children can have a means to be tired and lighten up the care providers and parents.

Playgrounds also serve as excess energy outlets for children. Jumping, running, swinging, sliding and playing allows the children to use their store energy in a good way. After recess, they will be able to respond, cooperate be more patient and calm all throughout the day.

The biggest dilemma that working mothers have is finding the time to take care of their children. Working on a full-time basis usually takes up the time of most mothers and having less time for their children. It often boils down to the decision whether she should be a full-time mom or a full-time employee. Most often than not, they often choose to be a full-time mother rather than work. Child care services often charge up to hundreds of dollars a week which can really be expensive.

Being a full-time mother can really be hard. There are so many things which babies need as they grow up. A baby needs 24-hour care especially for babies. Their only mode of communication is when they cry so mothers should always be alert once they hear their babies cry. Attending to their needs makes it easier for mothers to control their babies. They may be hungry, uncomfortable or they need a diaper change. There are so many reasons why children may cry, so mothers should always be prepared for this.

There are so many things which you need to consider when you go into full-time child care. You need to ensure that they receive their basic needs such as food, clothing, and proper care. You need to feed them with food that gives them maximum nutrition. Their clothes must be comfortable and hypo allergenic since their skin may be sensitive during this age.

Besides from crying, mothers should be watch their child all the time, as your children grow up, they will learn how to move around. They will know how to crawl and eventually walk. This will make them prone to accidents. When the child learns these things, the more mothers should be alarmed. Children have the tendency to pick up things that can hurt them. They will begin to reach things and play with them. They are also prone to bumping everywhere that can cause bruises and cuts.

A mother usually chooses to stay as a full-time rather than work not only because of the money that they will save but also because they will get to monitor the development of their children. The children will grow under the supervision of the parent just as how they want their child to grow up. The most effective way of raising a child is by hands-on method. When the child grows up, they will now be sent to school and before the mothers know it, they will not be the ones who will raise their child.

It is better that you will raise your child personally so that you will be able to show your child how it is to be a mother. Remember that a growing child is still dependent and they need someone to look up to. You have to be a good role model and show them that you care and you prioritize their welfare. Even if things can get a little frustrating, all you need to do is to understand that they still have to learn things as they grow up and just be patient.

Daycare centers is a flourishing business as more and more parents work full time and as such they have to leave their children to the care of somebody else. Once children are brought into a daycare center, they become the center’s responsibility. The center has liability should anything happen to the children under their care like a child getting hurt in play or in activities.

Insurance is very important in a daycare center. It is important both for the owner and the business itself. A liability insurance will cover any accident that may befell any child within your premises during the time that they are under your care and responsibility. Your business and your personal resources could be wiped out entirely should an accident occur in your daycare center that is not covered by any insurance. The cost of litigation and the possible damages you have to pay could be more than what you can afford.

Experienced daycare providers know how to protect themselves from liabilities. They require parents to submit the child’s medical records so they will know if the child has allergy or any serious illness that will require treatment or special attention. Parents are required also to submit the immunization record of the child with the doctor’s signature. These are all intended to avoid any problem that may question the center’s liability thus avoiding future lawsuits. However, accident when children are involved in any activity could not be entirely avoided. This is when a liability insurance comes in handy.

Most states require childcare center to operate only if they have liability insurance. They are well aware that the owners of childcare centers may not be in the position to handle the financial obligation in the event of an accident involving one or more children. A home based child care center has a very limited capitalization and failure of the owner to pay for hospital bills of children who are involved in accidents will be disastrous to both the childcare center owner and the parents concerned.

Insurance liability coverage has its limits, depending on what kind of coverage you get and how much you pay. You will pay more for a higher insurance coverage. Anything that is beyond your insurance coverage will be your own responsibility. If your insurance provides only for $100,000 coverage per child and the child’s hospital bill is $120,000, you will have to pay for the $20,000 difference.

The cost of liability insurance will depend on the kind of coverage you will choose and the number of children enrolled in the daycare center. Different insurance companies offer different amount of premiums but make sure you deal only with well-established and reputable insurance companies. It is also a good idea that you seek legal advice before getting an insurance policy. Your lawyer can explain to you some confusing legal terms and can help you decide on what kind of insurance coverage will be best for your daycare center.

Many want to make a day care center and make it as a successful business. And these dreamers engage in this line of business full time and thus are self employed for it. One of the reasons for this is to be able to earn more while one is staying at home. Other reasons include the drudgery of a nine to five job for another as a boss. So until and unless one performs actions in pursuing their dream, having as day care business will remain just that, a dream. But this need not always is just a dream for here are some steps to undertake in order for one to find the finances to realize that dream.

1)	Business planning. Like in every business, a day care must be borne forth of a business plan. How one seeks to achieve business objectives is a key ingredient in making this business plan. Even though the business is operated from home, having a business plan is crucial in making this business work. The business plan is in a nutshell the product of diligent research and well thought out planning which would assist financial institutions in making a decision whether or not one would provided a loan for the business. It must include the general objective of the center, how it will operate efficiently and effectively, especially as it is home-based, and a financial projection of revenues for one’s business.

2)	Business structuring. This details all the financial matters involved in the business. Costing the preparation, operation and eventual continuous increase in business is essential to make known to financial institutions how much money is needed for the business to make money. Also included are the operational expenses, supplies and educational expenses needed for the day care.

3)	Also, owner’s equity needs to be provided since lending institutions would want some participation on one’s end in the financial aspect of the business and not merely operations. Thus one’s financial interest in the business must be provided to entice lenders to commit money for one’s endeavor. Thus investing in one’s own business would provide signals to the lender that the commitment to succeed is clearly evident.

4)	Collateralize. In order for one to make a clear commitment to the success of the business, one needs to put up some form of collateral for the lender to be able to be confident that return of the money lent would be made. It would also provide two things, confidence in the success of the business and avenue for a lender to recoup the loan made. So by putting up as a collateral one’s home or vehicle, one is able provide an option for the lender to recover the loan costs if ever the business fails.

As one can see, reaching out to make the dream a reality is not an easy task to do. One has to make a business plan, structure the business, inclusion of personal equity in the loan or offering collateral are some ways to which a loan may be obtained to finance the dream.
